06 owners, check this out, mine stranded me
Any news on this? I checked my isolators and they appear to be good. Ticker just rolled 28k though. Anybody have a good source for a spare? Phone number or URL for Cummins? Anybody expecting a recall any time soon?
I would keep a pair of vicegrips or a hammer in the truck, in case of a break at least you can crimp shut the broken line to drive home on 5 cylinders without leaking gallons of fuel everywhere.
Also, in light of so many reports of problems, I think putting a dab of blue, or even red Loctite on the threads of the #4 isolator might prevent some problems. I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

my dads 06 still has the blue connector on #5 but its split in half. when you get the replacement is it the whole bit of line for #5 or is it just the little blue connector? is it an easy do it yourself or should we take it to a trusted mechanic? also there is a cummins place in clovis nm as well its right next to the fair grounds, never been in it but i have seen it when i was at a rodeo there (too bad they were closed on the weekend)

I would actually recommend that you NOT do this^^^ crimp method. For one, you won't be able to crimp that line closed enough to resist the pressure. Fuel will still flow out, no matter how tightly you squish it. For another, such a crimp is more likely to cause a spray rather than a stream of fuel.
I know that me personally, I'd rather have a STREAM of flammable liquid under my hood than a SPRAY of flammable mist-- if you get my meaning.
The Loctite suggestion, however, is probably a good idea.

Isolators for Cummins common rail
My buddy had his crack and blow diesel all over the place while pulling his boat home from the lake. He told me about it so I could save a possible headache. GOOD thing I did, but my situation was a little different on my 06. The small 8mm bolts on his worked loose, and in turn cracked the line in half. The 10 MM bolts that actual hold the bracket down to the intake on mine were GONE on #4 and #5. I loosened up the 8mm on the isolator, lined the bolt holes back up, put new bolts in and then retightened the 8mm bolts. If you look close at the pic you can identify were it is, right by the PCM is where # 4 is, notice the boost fooler laying there....

question, but #4 is the 4th one back from the front correct?
