06 Down Shift Problem
When pulling a load at 2000 RPMs and the transmission downshifts, it jumps to 3000 RPMs and instantly drops back to 2500 and settles in. A spike in RPMs like that can't be good for drive compents when pulling heavy loads!

Don't hold the fuel peddle to the floor when you push the clutch in! ;)

The drop in rpm's is when the converter locks back up in the lower gear. |
still seems like a 1000 rpm jump in a half a second would be a lock of shock to engine-drive train an trans over a period of time this could cause some serious problems

If your concerned you could always not use T/H mode.
Come to think of it I don't think mine goes from 2000 RPM up to 3000 RPM. Yes rpms come up when down shifting useing T/H pulling a 12,000 lb. load but I don't think it's 1000 rpm's. Guess I'll have to check next time when I'am towing. I know I would have noticed a 1,000 rpm jump though so I don't think mine does that. |
when it hits 3000 it instanly drops to 2500 but for a second it is at 3000
