I just got off the phone with the dealer & he said the flash is supposed to lock 4th out. I asked if they could do the flash so the tranny will do what the TSB said & he said that is the latest flash and they could not do anything about it. *** over

Doing the flash allows the option of making the tow/haul switch into a od on/off switch. It must still be enabled with the drb after the flash.take it back to the dealer, they need to make it work.

Locking out 4th gear....helpful when towing up long hills by not allowing the trans to shift int and out of 4th gear.

This might be a dumb question but here we go. . . I have a 04.5 srw and I tow a 14k goose. I like the concept of the O/D lock out but if I am towing on flat land and the trans is not searching between 3rd and 4th is it ok to switch to non-tow/haul mode? In tow/haul doing 65 mph I am turning 2400 rpm. TIA!

On your truck TH is OD lockout. If it will pull OK leave it in OD and save the fuel.

If it starts hunting and shifting then use TH, or, buy a Smarty and it will almost never downshift.
