I am needing to replace a crankshaft in a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 with a CTD. The crankshaft end was bent in a collision with a tree. Is the crankshaft available only through the Dodge dealer, or is it available through cummins or other sources? If it is available from the Cummins dealer, does anybody know the part #?

 

Give your local Cummins distributor a call with your serial number and they can get you a crank for cheaper than you can get one from Dodge.

 

do you have pics of the crash that would bend THAT crank? hopefully you werent hurt

 

Wow..crash bent the crank. Are you fixing the whole truck or just salvaging the motor?

 

It isn't my truck that this happened to. I am just locating and gathering the parts to do the repairs with. The truck rolled down a long hill with nobody in it(manual trans) and hit a large tree dead center. The truck is fixaable even though the damage is severe.
