03 HO, couple more questions...

I don't recall any SO truck's having the 6 shooter.
I also remember some of the guys on this board who lived in CA trying to figure out how to buy an HO out of state and "importing" them back in; or having a family/friend buy it new for them out of state and reselling it back to them after it had something like 7500 miles on it to avoid the EPA requirements.
disclaimer: its been awhile since I've thought about that stuff and those brain cells have long since vanished....

Well, either way, my 8th VIN # is a C, so it is the HO, so that puts that to rest. I am concerned however(after reading SO MANY horror stories) about the LP. I mean, what gives? Is there an actual cure? Is it for the 02 and earlier trucks? I was reading alot of the people that are having problems with the lift pump were 01's, 00's, etc....but then I read one where an 04 had problems. So, can anyone give me the low down on this. I printed up a nice thread from here on the the board about it, but was wondering if the 03 has the same problems. Is it a shot in the dark, or all the trucks having LP problems? Thanks!
Well, mine has never had a LP problem, and neither have my friends, but I recall reading a thread that seemed to suggest the LPs tend to go south more often for people in Canada. Don't know if it is something about the cold, or something in the fuel.
From what I understand, if the LP on an 03 and newer common rail engine goes out, it won't run... so hopefully you won't have the LP fail and the truck continues to run but the injection pump doesn't get enough fuel to cool and lubricate...
Anyhow, I wouldn't really worry about it.
