Blew a Tranny line Is my tranny still good?

So today on my way home from work I noticed that it seemed like the tranny was starting to slip, so I immediately pulled over shut the truck off jumped out to see a puddle of tranny fluid under it. Thankfully I was able to locate the parts to fix it put 7 quarts of fluid in it and continued my journey home. The tranny seemed to shift fine with no slipping, I'm just concerned that i didn't shut it down in time and did some damage to the tranny.

Probably OK if it seems fine.

Well, 7qts is close to what you'd put in if you did a fluid and filter change. If the tranny is now running fine after getting new fluid back in there you might have caught it in time. I would keep an eye on the fluid for the next couple of weeks. Burnt fluid fluid would tell you if the tranny was hurt but the fluid that could tell you that was bled out on the side of the road. (I'm thinking of all the threads where "my fluid was burnt so I did a fluid and filter change and now the tranny died". I don't know if I"d feel out of the woods if it was my truck so I'd be on guard for the new few weeks. HOPEFULLY your tranny pulled through but I guess time will tell. Just keep driving it.

Update. Did a fluid and filter change on it yesterday and drove 200 miles out to new york and back and the tranny was shifting fine so I hope that I'm in the clear. Thank you for all the responses.
