Auto to manual swap, problems with state inspection

Hey there, I am in the early stages of planning to do a swap to a 5 speed manual tranny in my 2003 2500 4x4. I was wondering if anyone who has done one has had problems with state vehicle inspections because of the truck now having a manual transmission rather than the auto. This is the only thing holding me back from doing the swap. Thank you for any input.

While I am not sure I don't recall ever seeing this being a problem in the past threads about this type of thing. The emissions requirements are going to be the same (if they test in your area) the emissions equipment will be the same as well. If it is a non emissions inspection then I would think as long the safeties are still in place (ie neutral safety switch etc) should be fine. However a quick stop at a local inspection station should clear up any concerns one way or the other.
I did the same thing in Minnesota many years ago converted a car from an auto to a manual and at least back then it was no issue but different state and different time.

Update on getting past Massachusetts inspection. No issues regarding the swap other than first inspection failed due to an intermittently working reverse light switch on tranny that should have been replaced before I bought it lol. Other than the switch, I believe the inspection place probably thought it was a factory manual truck, passed 2 years so far. The next question is what does the dodge *********** say when I bring it in for the passenger airbag recall, hahaha.
