After reading all of these posts, I checked mine. It's cracked. Very minor though... passenger side from the defrost vent back towards the airbag about 3 inches long.

This is a '99 3500 - 126,000 miles dark gray interior.

Ok, last weekend I found one crack, this weekend, I have 4 cracks. This really sucks!
My truck has always been in the garage when I didnt drive it, I had a company truck for 4 years. When I did drive it, it always had a sunscreen and the windows were always cracked open. As I said, all our Dodge worktrucks have cracked dash's too.
I guess DC is sticking it to us again.

Its just what happens.

Have them recall your fuel tank while your at it, I heard they tend to get empty as you drive?

Sorry dude. I know this is an old thread but I have been researching how to fix mine. I have been driving for 30+ years and this is the first vehicle I have ever owned with a cracked dash. It is not the oldest either. This is should be a recall.

01 with gray dash, cracked from windshield to vents in a two or three places, keep a sunscreen up, has about 81,000 miles. Black trim underneath is cracked also right behind the steering wheel. If you can get enough publicity, something might be done, and should be on their dollar.
I know Shell made some bad ingredients for the first plastic pipes used inside house slabs, I think back in the 70's and they had to fix those issues.

Big three wonder why they are going broke

My 99 cracked from the passengers side defrost vent all the way to the airbag. Guess I'll be buying a cover fromo Geno's. I used the covers on all of the GM trucks when they cracked.

They have aired two reports on the cracked dash and are investigating other years as well. They interviewed a body shop owner and he started off blaming the sun and heat but admitted there is a problem with dodge specifically. If you have pictures send them to scooper@wkmg.com
