Yet another steering question

So, my truck has been getting noticably worse now within hte last couple of months or so. Seems like it is harder to keep it going straight down the road, I am always have to correct left and back to the right and so on. I replaced the steering stabilizer about 2 weeks ago and it helped, but it is still doing it. Had the wife turn the steering wheel while I watched underneath: turns to the right and everything is tight, turn to the left and there is a bit of play before anythiing starts moving. Is this a gear box problem or something else? Sorry about the long post just trying to give all the info I can. Thanks

You probably need new ball joints and tie rod ends. I just went thru this whole mess with my truck. Take it to a reputable shop and get it checked out, it may just need 1 or 2 parts rather than an entire rebuild. It could also be an alignment issue. My rig was toed in 15 degrees!

I just checked the ball joints nd all seems well. The little rubber boot bushings on the tie rods are pretty much shot though and i thought about throwing in the Luke's links. i also noticed that the drag link adjuster tube isn't pointing down like the other one, does it need to be adjusted to match the other one?

having similar troubles with the 95 I just purchased. Lots of play in the steering wheel and just a plain sloppy feel up front.

I contacted lukeslinks.com today to ask about the "rebuilt kit" that people refer to on here. I'm going to do tierods, tracbar and drag link joints I think.

Make sure you check the play in the steering box bearings. I had mine go out 3yrs ago and almost wrecked because all the fluid ran out and I lost the brakes(cummins).
