Will 255/85R16 tires fit an 01 dually without modifying the wheel wells or using spacers?

I "think" I read on one of the forums that Cooper 255/85's fit a dually w/o spacers. Going from memory, it was close but they did not touch. It had to do with that brand being slightly narrower than others for that size.

A friend of mine has them on his 01

with six inches of lift, man i need to get a pic of that ride.. lol!! But they do fit, and will not rub together in the back if the truck is not loaded, because he dont load it much he dont have a spacer, but if you are gonna load it up, i suggest at least a 3/8 spacer between them..

PS.. on edit.. they are 255/85/16 BFG mudders...
