who services factory stereo system for 97 CTD?

97 CTD factory sound system has been down for a bit. came with CD changer under driver seat.

Do these fail all the time? it it worth fixing and who fixes them?

My experience has been that it is cheaper to just replace the unit. Most repair shops around here will charge a flat bench fee just to check it out and then what it is that needs repair is added to it plus more labor. You might be able to find a used OEM on EBAY but just make sure the seller offers a warranty on it of some type. The last radio I went online to crutchfield and found numerous options.
