You can easily tell by using the VIN decoding from Fritz's page:

Usually there is a date on the title that tells you what year it is . Actually I think it is an '01.

My 01 has rear disks it is something they did in the middle of the production year so I guess you could call it an 01.5

most likely it is an 01.5 or an 02, with all the vehicles that i have to take the vin off of at my job i have noticed that the number on the sticker on the door is usually a year before the actual model year

May of 2001 is a wee bit early for it to be a 2002.

Sept probably, August less likely, but no way in May.

I stand by my previous 2001.5.

When I ordered my truck I was told..... March 31 was the cut off for the current year so if I ordered it April 1st I would have gotten the next model year. They also told me it takes 10 weeks for a factory order. So I ordered my truck on March 27 98 and took delivery on June 11 98(10 weeks later) But its door tag says 06 98 ???? Go figure I had been fed a line, AGAIN. My truck was made and delivered in 11 days! Anyway my truck is registered as a 98.5. New model sales ussualy start in Sept but on ocassion when its a revamped model I have seen them earlier. My 84 Corvettewas built in March 83 and I took possesion in May 83(4months early) As the boys have said yours is probbably a 01.5

My 2002 was part of the first batch of 2002s built - I had it on order before 2002 production started. It was built in late July 2001, and I took delivery on August 15, 2001. 2001 order cutoff was in early May 2001 - I know because I tried ordering a 2001 but DC wouldn't accept the order. They finally accepted an order for a 2002 in mid-June.

Late 2001 trucks did have rear discs - it was a running production change. These trucks are informally known as 01.5 model year trucks.

Oh, this model year thing is a real joke. I bought my 2003 Acura 3.2TL-S off the dealer's lot on Memorial Day weekend, 2002.
