Washer pump stopped working

My windshield washer pump quit pumping this morning on my 97. Found out when I was clearing the dew and haven't had a chance to look at more than the connections (which appear fine). I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and hopefully save me some troubleshooting time. I did a search but came up blank. The wipers, and all other electrical stuff seems fine. I haven't checked fuses yet but cannot imagine it having a separate fuse for that . Appreciate the help

My first step, even before looking for a blown fuse, would be to run power directly to the pump from the battery with a couple of test leads.
The pumps do fail but it's not common at all.
If the pump checks out good and no blown fuses are found I would suspect that the multi-funtion switch (turn signal lever) is bad. Most time m-f switch problems are simply caused by dirt on the contacts due to the open construction of the lever and switches, electrical contact cleaner will often cure the problem.

Thanks Infidel. I appreciate it that you always provide sound advice . I'll run the leads first to rule out the pump (right after I look for the obvious blown fuse). Then, I'll work my way back and hope it's not a faulty multi-function switch. Will let you know.....

If your pump is bad, replace it with a FASS II... (isn't that what everybody recommends?) - bet that sucker oughta pump some serious washer fluid when you need it. Ha!!
