Warning!!!!!!Power tow mirror swap!!!!!!!!

I just ordered my mirrors for a power tow mirror swap off ebay a week ago. A set of 94-02 manual tow mirror and the 03-06 power heated tow mirrors set. The new power heated tow mirrors that they are making in 06 will not work with the 94-02 maual tow mirror base. There is the dip in the mirror arm where it meets the base, that is no longer there on the newer tow mirrors that they are making in 06. but also watch out becouse the picture in the action showed the mirrors with the dip but they sent me this newer kind. I am talking to the seller, who is a mopar dealer, now to fix the problem and will let you know what happens. Just alittle heads up, to avoid some hassles.

I'm pretty sure the ones from 06 are different, but what about the ones from 03? I'm pretty sure tose would fit.

Wrong Mirrors

I had the same thing happen to me. I ordered a set of power tow mirrow through a dealer. I made sure I ordered the 02-05 mirrors, but when I received them, they did not match the base from my 01. When I called the dealer, they said since the bases from the 06's are the same as the 02-05's, this is what they are sending out for replacements on all the 3rd gen trucks. I am going to talk to the parts manager on Wednesday. I hope they will take these back or I will be stuck with 06 mirrors that I cannot use for my non-power to power tow mirror swap.

Sad part is I e-mailed Dodge a awhile ago about the possibility of manufacturing the 3rd gen heads combined with the 2nd gen bases and they replied:
"There's not enough demand to justify the project".

I just took off my factory power/heated mirrors and installed some non-power/heated flip out mirrors made for a second gen. Could I have put on some power/heated flip out mirrors off an early 3rd gen and had them work? Would the plug from 3rd gen mirrors plug right in to my factory plug-ins for my old mirrors?
