UPDATE::12v or 24v intercooler
How can one tell by looking if an intercooler is a 12v or 24v model?

Re:12v or 24v intercooler
Anyone know? There has got to be a way to tell the difference by looking at them. I have heard that the 24 version flows better. How about it Gurus.

Re:12v or 24v intercooler
Well, mine is a 12V and it has these numbers on it: 52027562 then below that one,: 83403D and then 2497. One of these must be the P/N. I expect it to be the 52.... Hope this helps a little.
Ed
Re:12v or 24v intercooler
Thanks for the numbers. I will have to look to see if mine has the same or similar. I was hoping that there would be a physical difference that would jump out to the eye. Like the number of passes or height or depth measurements.

Re:12v or 24v intercooler
Can anyone substantiate the claim that the 24v version flows better than the 12v version. I have heard that there is some EGT reduction to be had if a 12v'er were to change the intercooler for a 24v version.

UPDATE::Re:12v or 24v intercooler
Update:
According to my local dealer the part numbers are as follows 52027562 94-98 12v 52028482 98 (only) 12v and 24v 52028724AF replacement for 94-02 this part number has changed several times over the last few years. The last character has changed from an A to B to C etc. until we have an F. So we have cleared up the lineage of the inter-cooler. Does anyone have any experience with changing and earlier 12v cooler to a 24v cooler and noticed reduced EGTs or an increase in performance due to a rumored better flow characteristc in the later coolers. |
