Tow mirror swap

A while back, I decided to do the manual to power tow mirror swap for my 2001 Ram. I was told the correct part numbers for the mirrors were 55077444AG & 55077444AL. I found a set of these mirrors on ebay with the correct part number and bought them. Once they arrived, the bases and arm were different. This is the second set of mirrors I have bought. The first time, I did not realize the difference between the 2001 and later year mirrors. I thought I did my homework this time and I still ended up with the newer style mirrors. Does anyone know of the correct part numbers for the newer power tow mirrors to use for the conversion? And, if anyone is looking for a replacement set of power tow mirrors, I have a brand new set to sell.

If your looking for a 3rd gen mirror that directly bolts to a 2nd gen truck, your outta luck. You should have the right 3rd gen mirrors as discribed by your P/Ns, but you have to swap the bases keeping your 2nd gen mirror bases. If this is not what your saying, then I don't understand what your saying when you say they are different. You may have actually gotten the newer mirror (P/N: 82207298). I understand the P/Ns your describing are very hard to come by anymore, and according to some purchasers they are being substituted by the newer 06 mirrors. That's what I ended up with as I couldn't find the 05 ones anymore. They don't look as clean, but don't look bad either, and the conversion can still be done with a bit more work. If your good at modifying you should be able to handle it. I posted a picture of my 06 conversion mirrors on a previous thread.

Try e-mailing member Adam3291 about this issue. He did his swap successfully and was very helpful answering my q's. Kurt
