I saw some parneli jones dirt grips in an add a while ago. The 305/70/16's were $200+. I think maybe $230 but I'm not sure about that. Anything over $200 is too high for me anyway.
They are definately for a NICHE Market... They have alot of strong selling points like great on/off road traction, relative quiet for aggressive looks, quality control (tires are xrayed), balance is easily obtained even on the large sizes, etc.

But... I don't know that I would pay that hefty of a price for a 305! I did have no problem paying an extra 50 bucks a tire for my size (36x14.5x16.5 radial 10 plys) over what Super Swampers or other comperable tires run.

The 305's I would probably run a Nitto Terra Grappler again in the E load range.

I also probably wouldn't be afraid of the Cooper's if they made a 305 (not sure if they do) in a E load range.
Have any of you guys ever tried Pirelli tires? And what do you think of them. I am thinking of buying there new Scorpion STR tires. thanks- Anthony
Anthony,
I have never run the pirelli tires on a heavy truck before and plead ignorance as to its life expectancy. Pirelli is an italian tire company and makes awesome tires for the sports segment as well as bike tires.(I am not familiar with their truck tires if they make them) I had some 205.45.r16's on a celica once and they were pretty good high performance tires.
I have Kuhmo 305.50.r20's on my Expedition 4x4 and they aren't going to go over 30k by the looks of them at 16k but they look good! 8) The dealer had them put on for me when I bought the truck (my bro works there) and I will not buy them again.
Sorry not much help on your post but at least wanted to answer it.....

James

Re: Tires, which ones

They are called Super Sports. Made by Good year. Had them on my Chev as well. Great traction, and the road noise isn't bad at all for the aggressive tread that it is.

These are 265/75-16

Mike

Re: Tires, which ones

I've seen 2 or 3 2500's with 315's on them and it didn't look like they had any lift. 315's are roughly 35 inch tires. I guess it can be done, but I wouldn't recomend it. I had 305/70R16's which are 33's, on mine with no lift, and they rubbed only when the suspension was compressed pretty good. I've got a leveling kit on now with the 305's and i would run the 315's if I had 4.10 gears. I know people run 35's with 3.55 gears, but that's not for me. You can get a leveling kit for around $200 with shocks, pretty cheap for being able to run 35's. I've been looking at some super swamper STS radials in a 305/70R16. If you've seen them you know what I'm talking about. They've got the triangle-looking tread pattern. I think their D-rated, and super swamper calls them their "all terrrain" tire. (but that's coming from the same people who make the boggers). I just don't think they would wear very good. They are radials. What do y'all think?

Re: Tires, which ones

8)I have a 97' 3500 that I have been running bfg's on and i love them. I run the 255-85-16, with a spacer and they have been trouble free for about 15,000 miles so far. All my miles have been (90%) towing 13,000lbs. gooseneck, with about 2400lbs. tongue weight. also have a pre-runner truck i run 33-12.50's on and they are bfg's, and have performed great.
