Tire/wheel ?, 1st year 235-85-16s were stock on 3500s

I may go to 255-85s on my next set of tires. Since the wheels on the trucks that came stock with 235s have more offset, I'm gonna start shopping for a set. But, due to CRS, can't remember the first year for the greater offset wheels. 2000, 2001 or perhaps 2002?

I'm thinking that with a set of 1/4" spacers these wheels may work with no rubbing.

Anyone?

Thanks, RJR

Thanks for the replys guys. It looks like the key is to have the 8 slot wheels, first used on 2000 year trucks. The 4 slotted wheels are for the 215s like I have.

My 97 had 235/85s when I got it on 4 hole rims, 1st owner towed heavy like 25,000 lbs and no sign of rubing had about 1in space.

i was going to go with the 255s on my dually but i could only find them in mud tires. i have since went to 285 yokohama's with a 2 inch spacer. i like it a lot and no rubbing on the front.

I have 235/85's on my 98.5 and only had 5/8" clearance between them - not quite enough.......I made up some 3/8" spacers to make it an even 1" clearance and I have no signs of rubbing........as it has already been mentioned 2000 is the 1st year for the 235/85 with the larger offset rim.........you will definately need spacers for your 95 if you want to run 255's.
