Tire ticking only when turning...
I noticed when making a left hand turn that the right front tire has a ticking noise coming from the hub area. It seems to be more frequent, but not louder at higher speed turns. My first thought was a pebble or nail in the tire tread but it is not. The sound seems to be comming from possibly behind the wheel. Is this a bearing???

1. Check you wheel bearings by jacking the axle up and trying to rock the wheel up and down. If it moves then it is wheel bearings.
2. Check your front axle U-joint in the nuckle for lose ones..
3. Check your front drive shaft... there is a double set of U joints that has a problem with the clicking noise. It is separated by a ball that is to keep the double U joint from getting out of line... Yes, DC replaced the whole front driveshaft because of this problem...

Mine does this in 4 wheel drive, only in 4 wheel drive though.
It seems, when there's power applied to the front driveshaft,
it shifts just enough to start binding on that "CV" joint.
My truck is lifted, hence the extreme angle on that joint.
If your truck isn't lifted, I'd lean towards the U-joint on the axle shaft.

Usually it will cause the clicking in this joint on a hard turn (bind the front shafts) Like if your going to turn around in the middle of a forest road.... My truck is stock height and still broke the CV joint...

I just heard mine doing it in 4wd on a hard turn two days ago. So are y'all saying this is normal, or does it mean a broken CV joint. My truck is less than 2 years old, and probably has been in 4wd less than 50 miles.
