Isn't the Cooper ST MAXX supposed to be the commercial tire replacement for the old Cooper ST-C? 235/85s don't look too skinny at all. Thanks for posting pictures.
i thought st rated tires were for trailer use

The ISO Metric tire code consists of a string of letters and numbers, as follows:
An optional letter (or letters) indicating the intended use or vehicle class for the tire:-
P: Passenger Car
LT: Light Truck
ST: Special Trailer
T: Temporary (restricted usage for "Space-Saver" spare wheels)

John, they are, but the tires we are talking about are Cooper brand, ST is the series name, not the tire designation.

They are LT type.

I'm really liking these tires, especially in this size. Only bad thing is my right outer tie rod is gone. Got a new one on order already.

I had the BFG tractions on my '01 dually back about 7 years ago. Loved 'em at first. I had 2 let go on me with <10k on tires. Michelin bought me a set (6) of AT2's. I just replaced those with 30k and half tread remaining. They were getting pretty weather checked at 7 years and I had 1 start to come apart.

My buddy who I talked into the TA's at the same time I bought mine has had stellar service from 2 sets on his dually. Go figure. Mine sits more with a lotta weight (even though well within specs) and I think that's what kills 'em.

One thing I can say about Michelin (who owns BFG)...they DO stand behind their tire. Even gave me 25% credit on the new AT2's even though they were 7 years old. Bought the AT2 replacements for the BFG's and wrote a check for $3K in body damage.

My company (w/large fleet) has been doing all GY Duratraks with good success. I put a set on my Cherokee and really like them, but think they're a bit agressive if you run heavy (can't get rid of heat).
