Thinking of selling my 01....

to get something a little more gas mileage friendly to commute with to and from work. It's a 75 miles round trip and the beast gets 21 mpg if I drive it friendly and with a light foot.

I've looked on KBB, NADA, edmunds, and others and the prices are all over the place from $20,000 to $26,000 not including the goodies that I've on it. In the autotrader there are only 3 in AZ that are 2001's that are advertised and 2 have over 122,000 miles on them, so there's not much to compare it to.

2001.5, 3/4 ton, HO CTD, 6 spd, 3.54 gears, ext cab, long bed, 4x4, white, fiberglass shell/cap, bedliner, aluminum (aftermarket) rims, with 285 BFGs, Edge EZ, 3 gauges on the A pillar (fuel, pyro, boost), AFE air cleaner kit, no muffler, SLT Plus, CD stereo, sliding rear window, 65,000 miles, oil changed every 7500, fuel filter changed every 15,000.

Any ideas on how to price it?

Looks like you answered your own question with a low in the bottom 20's and a high in the mid 20's.

Dang, I wish I was in your area. That is exactly what I wanted when I went truck shopping, 3/4 ton long bed, 4x4, 6spd tranny. Instead I ended up with a short bed, 2x4, automatic, but at least it has the Cummins.

PHX_ATC,
Does your name represent your job or that you like three-wheelers?

How long have you been there? I am assuming you mean tower. May have talked to you. Work at PHX for three and half years. Mainly taxi for job, but did fly our Arrow out once (couple of students blew a tire on landing ). Flown the transition more times then I can remember.

Randy

BTW I have a cheap 200s if really want a three-wheeler.

Been there 5 years, at the tower that is, not the dreaded approach control!

Sometimes it's safer on the ground taxiing than flying!

No gas money for quads, 3 wheelers, nothing. I'm so tapped out, I sold my boat, just in the nick of time too, right when gas was $1.85 a gallon. Now, it would be a lawn ornament.

I know the feeling. I drive back and forth between TUS & PHX every week. All of our friends and family are there. I am pondering transfering back to save a couple of hundered a month in fuel.

On your truck I would say the higher side of the values. That is low milage and several additional items. I would like to make you an offer for your EZ but can't with my VP problems.

Can you afford to buy a used car? for 3000.00 or so, you can get a good commuter. Keep the truck!
I have a 100 mile return trip. I am looking for a TDI.

Mike - always an option.

Randy - geez, I tanked up today at $2.78/gal and tonight driving home it went up to $3.04/gal. Then again, gas went up more than diesel.

I really don't think I will sell my truck...I can run over the cars that run out of gas!!

I filled up at the new loves by Firebird last Sunday and judgeing by the Eloy Flying J price it is probably $2.83. They are usually 2 cents higher and th Flying J's web site shows $2.81. But I'm not sure how accurate that is. It's 20 miles each way to TUS from our apartment. I was just calculating how much I could save if I road a motorcycle. I don't think it is enough to buy a street bike or even convert my dirt bike.

Actually the wife suggested getting a 100 acres towards globe and buying Yak 52. I think it would be pretty close on cost.

Buy the property.

You'll be dead within a week with a motorcycle around here. I'm sure you've seen the way these morons drive. They can't see car & trucks, let alone cycles. What you save in fuel, you'll more than lose with medical bills and time lost from work after you get smushed.

I rode in a Yak once out of FFZ. That thing flew like a truck. Maybe that's why you'd get one. Fun ride, cool beast.

Yaks simple and durable. That and the M-14 (i think??) gives it 400 H.P. for nearly the same burn. I wouldn't mind an RV either but people are usually very proud of them. And they are a waste with out a constant speed prop. and most people don't go that route. Any of my other desire would not be good for a marginally improved feild.

I wouldn't buy a bike with how far I live form a freeway right now. I wouldn't mind riding if it was mostly freeway. At least there are less directions for them to come from. But even a $6/gal it would not pay for it self.

Those RV peeps are wacked. Rather sect like in my book.

Yaks are like the flying trucks of the world...simple, durable, yet cool.

Oh well, off to work to earn a few dollars to pay for my $15 dollar a day trip to/from work.
