My 99 needs a new Tranny and I am thinking of selling it. It has been a work truck so it is rough around the edges. but only has 170000 miles on it.

Any ideas what a person might get?
99 3/4 Short bed extended cab 4x4.

Did you really mean 17,000 miles? As in 3 oil changes?

 

17k on the clock? Wow that's really low, but if the truck is beat up and the tranny is wasted that's very unfortunate.
All you can do is throw out a starting price and see if you get any bites there.

170K rough and bad trans may cripple your chances of getting a lot for it.

W/O seeing it I would bet 5-8 thousand, needin trans and all.

There are quite a few available around here right now going for around 12K, but clean looking and straight.

Saw a 12V RC long bed 4x4 5 speed in MT last summer with 88K asking 13K for....almost pooped.

I'd a grabbed it if I had the $$$.

 

Heck I will be tickled to get 4000

My BIL would bring home a complete wreck and be proud of the fact he overpaid for the Cummins, clean it up and straighten the bigger dents and make money on the sale, every time!
