Steering Wheel Not Locking

First of all..its real cold here -5-10 ish.... I pulled into my buddys shop amd put it in park, shut it off, and went to jump out and i heard the leave the keys in bell goin off...But i had the keys in my hand. Checked the headlights, they were off. I started it up turned the wheel and stuff, then shut it off. The bell warning bell stopped, but i noticed the steering wheel is now free turning even in park. The gear shifter is locking, but my steering wheel doesnt. Any idee-er's? :(

hi
on my 98 you have to turn the wheel 180* for it to lock as i think there is only 1 notch where it locks , wheel upsidedown ?

Sounds like you got cold weather issues. Oldblues is right in that only a few places where wheel actually locks.

As said by oldblues your wheel has to be 180 or in other words up side down..Thats the only way mine locks.

Thats the way mine locks. Thought maybe something was wrong. But it sounds like that is the norm.
