I am running a 1999 Dodge 2500 diesel pickup. There are three steering shaft options that I am aware of having just replaced mine three days ago. First is OEM. They are on national backorder. You can try to get a dealership to do an emergency order but no guarantees if and when it gets filled. Next is after market , Dormer, does them for a bunch of truck parts suppliers. Nice beefy unit, keeps OEM rag joint design, if you liked that. Tried two of them in my truck but had fitment issues, no one could get the bolt holes to align at the steering column end. Last is the Borgeson unit, a nice beefy unit, modern design, bolted right up to my new Redhead gear box and steering column end. So far so good. Good luck.

The Dorman part is *way* better. I would *NEVER* put the stock aluminum garbage back in. The Dorman part uses a perimeter clamp bolt like stock but the ends are steel. Unfortunately they only work on stock setups, so I can't run one.
The reason it won't fit mine is there is a flat on the input shaft on the OE style, and the Dorman has this flat. My aftermarket steering box is fully splined, so I'd have to machine a flat on the steering box input adapter, or try and find a specialty machine shop to broach the Dorman to fully splined.
