Solid Steel??

I bought a used DSS for my truck but it didn't come with any bolts. After many calls and emails I finally got in touch with Russell about 3 weeks ago. I explained the situation and wanted to buy a bolt kit. Russell offered to send me the kit for free and I thought that was great! The problem is it never came. I call the main number twice a day at random times and no one ever answers the phone. I have no problem paying for the kit but I've been chasing this down for 3 months and am getting frustrated. The steering on my truck is sloppier than a drunk sailor and wanted to get it fixed before the drive to Moab for EJS. If I don't get it soon it will be too late.

Does anyone know Russell personally or have an alternate # I can reach them at? Maybe it was shipped and got lost but one way or another I need the kit.

I don't know what to tell you about getting a hold of them, maybe you can contact the windecker machine number http://www.solidsteel.ca/Contact_Us.htm or maybe call one of their dealers and just ask them for the bolt sizes and hit the hardware store.

All the bolt sizes are in the install instructions.

Just because I am a nice guy.....

Order your parts from Russell at solid steel. www.solidsteel.biz Not the old solidsteel.ca address. Marv is .ca, Russell is .biz.

I have had excellent luck dealing with Russell, he is a stand-up guy, and when he says that he will do something, he does it. The other side of the coin, he is also human, just like us. Puts his pants on one leg at a time. Therefore, things can slip his mind, just like me or you.

I have not talked to him in a while, although I gave him a call last week, I think he might have actually taken a holiday or something. Apparently people do that too. That makes me " not people"

Anyway, Yes, I do know Russell personally, and I won't give out an alternate contact number. Business is what business numbers are for. I will however let him know of your dilemma, and perhaps he can get on it a little more quickly.

Good luck

I definately appreciate it! I only put stuff about vendors on the interent as a last resort. Russell is who I talked to and I understand things get busy and I could see how a bolt kit could slip his mind.

The only thing I need is the nut that goes into the bearing. You can't get those at the hardware store and I don't want to pay a machine shop $100 to make a one off.
