Replacing Tie Rod Ends

I'm going to attempt to replace my inner tie rod ends with replacements from Autozone. Firestone told me they were loose and it would cost $450 plus alignment fee to replace. These things are really less than $50 each. I wonder if they were really that bad, but I want to get the truck aligned to help the new tires last as long as they can. So I will do this and take it somewhere for alignment.

A question: These replacements have a grease fitting. The originals do not. I wonder if there is enough space between the tie rod grease fitting and the frame to get a grease gun nozzle in there? There are no instructions that come with these parts. Any one else have experience with this?

Take a look and see if you replace the zerk fittings with a 45 or 90 degree fitting, will allow you to access them easier.
