Remote start questions...

I've installed a Code Alarm CA530 Remote Start in my 01 2500. I've got it in tachless mode right now (works great BTW). But I would like to hook up a tach wire.
So, that's number one...can someone tell me wire color and location for the tach wire?

Number two, in order to use the Turbo Timer, I have to hook up a wire to the neutral safety switch. I need wire color and location for the neutral safety switch wire also.

Thank you

Doug

I don't know if this will help much but when I installed the remote start on my 94 the tach wires did not work with my remote start ( can't remember what kind it is). Instead, I had to get what was called a tach signal generator. It is a little one wire lead that simply has to be placed near the alternator to pick up it's magnetic field when it spins. I have had mine this way for four years and it works perfectly - even in -40 temperatures it starts properly.

Hope this helps.

I tapped into the tach wire, under the hood, in the big wire loom that runs along the firewall. It is a grey wire, with a black stripe. I tapped into it just to the right ( passenger) side of the valve cover.
What tranny do you have? If it's an auto, the neutral switch should be on the side of the tranny, in the area of the shift linkage.
