Re-wiring the 2nd battery.

I was wondering how would I re-wire my 2nd battery to do the following?

I want to rewire the second battery in it to run accessories in the truck so they aren't drawing off my main battery. But I want to wire it so that with one of those on/off ***** I can use it in sync with my main battery or both battery's together or one batter or the other alone, in case of an emergancy so I don't have to switch batterys around. But now I want to wire it so while the truck is running it will charge that battery also.

Anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks

Why do you want to run them separate? You'll be running one battery a lot harder than the other by starting off of it all the time, which doesn't seem like a great idea.

Go to an RV store and get an inline filter (kind of works like a check valve). It will allow the battery to charge like normal. but will only let you draw juice from that battery when the engine is off.
