Radio Antenna Loosening
Hey everybody,
I went 4x4ing on this tiny road that was completely overgrown with small alder trees growing on the shoulders of the road last weekend. The alders left only a very small path (about shoulder wide) down the middle, but in 4LO in first gear I could very very slowly work my way along the road while letting the alders brush up along the sides of the truck. As a result of this abuse my radio antenna is now "wiggly" (yes, that's a technical term). My question is how do you tighten the stock radio antenna on one of our trucks? There does not appear to be a nut on the bottom, so I'm assuming some kind of special tool is needed? Any input would be greatly appreciated. |
Look at the base of the antenna right above the plastic fender adapter, there is a chrome ring that has 3 little notches in it, grab it wih some pliers and tighten it up. If just the whip is loose there is a hex under the rubber cover.
