Recon cab roof lights

I've got an 02' sport that's black and i'm wanting to add some cab roof lights too it. I hate the way the amber cab roof lights look on black. I just think it looks weird. I was looking at recon and I like their smoked cab lights:

After doing some looking on the internet it looks like a lot of people haven't been happy with Recon lights. I was wondering if any of you guys have had experience putting their 2nd Gen cab lights in and have been happy with them? Seems that they make them more for trucks that already have the cab roof lights.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

PICS, trying to decide if I want to do cab lights on my truck. I used to hate them, now I think they might look good.

When i did mine I sodered all wires and got flat rubber washers to put under the screw heads to help with moisture. also after a year i checked and the supplied screws were rusted switched them to stainless.

I have a set that I want to install, but Recon sends a small pigtail that plugs into the factory harness and you plug your bulb into the pigtail.

After installing one light, I found that even the slightest vibration would knock the connection loose.
Also, the plug on the Recon lights is not the same as on the factory lights. If I remember correctly the factory bulb socket has one larger tab on the twist locks socket and that is why the adapter pigtail is necessary.

What I have decided to do is trim the factory bulb socket to fit into the Recon lenses and use LED replacement bulbs instead of the standard factory bulbs.
Just need to take the time to do it...

they are over 2 years old or more. and cant remember what model they are. but they did line up with the oem holes. the one pic of mine shows them lit up in the evening. I think you will like them with having all black of a truck. just make sure you hard wire them the twist plug and play crap they have on them sucks i did this drove around town and found the connections were not 110% contacting. so I sodered them.

I took your guys advice and i soldered the wire harnesses that come with the recon lights into the factory light harness so it would always have a good connection.

i was just wondering if you had any problems with these crappy led bulbs that recon includes with these lights. if you move the bulbs even the slightest in their bult sockets they turn on & off.....i'm not sure if it's the crappy bulbs or the crappy bulb sockets? did you have to buy replacement led bulbs for your cab lights to get them working?

i found out that part of the problems with these recon lights are the really cheap and crappy led bulbs that they include with the sets....i went and got some good amber led replacement bulbs for the lights and they work great....no more cutting on and off when they move in the bulb socket.....
