Post Play in steering.

I have a 97 ram 2500 5.9L Diesel. I have alot of play in my steering wheel, maybe around 7 inchs that i can move my steering wheel and nothing happens. I have a new steering gear box, PS pump. and it hasnt gotten any better. Anyone have any thoughts?

I had the same thing till I bought the steering stabilizer bar kit from PDRdiesel.com. That thing is amazing. My play went down drastically and my truck doesnt try to wander off on its own anymore. Hope this helps.

hi
sounds like you need a track bar !

even a new factory style has a small amount of play , it is the stupid desighn !

get a ssi bracket for the 03 and up bar and you will be amazed !!!!!!!!

i can not say enough about how good mine drives now !

i also replaced the seales to stop stearing box leak and adjusted the box and it is perfect , no wander ,no play , drives like a sports car !

also look at your sway bar end links for play / slop .

get the urathane sway bar bushings for supports and end links !
