Part Numbers

Probably a dumb question, but how can one get Dodge Truck OEM Part Numbers for items? I've been to several online order sites and they ask for Dodge Part Numbers.
When I'm at the counter of my local dealer's parts counter, he makes it a point to hide the part numbers from me. He shows me the IPB but when he pulls the part number from the reference number, he writes it down while concealing it.
Is there any other source to get part numbers, for my truck and body parts. I have purchased a Service Manual for my make and model, but I didn't see any IPB manuals or CDs. Suggestions appreciated
These numbers appearently are being safe guarded to avoid price comparison.

I simply call the dealer on the phone and ask directly what the part number is. If I don't like the answer (sounds like they have doubts or ask unrelated questions) I call another dealer to double check.
Also, just about any place on the web will have a better deal nowdays that the un-friendly dealer. Sorry, not to bash dealers but I rarely enjoy my experiences with them.
Try sites such as http://www.dodge-auto-parts-dealer.com/parts.htm, and E-bay has tons of new and used parts.

Well, you USED to be able to go to mopar parts america and download the parts manuals.

Somehow, DC has decided that is a bad thing and they have disabled the download part. They say they will be putting it back up in a non-downloadable format. For the time being, you can contact them and they will send you the page that corresponds to the part you require.

You might try that as well, just do a search for Mopar parts america.

Try as I might, I cannot figure out DC's logic with parts and service. I know they are not GM, but man, they way they try and hose owners........ Just does not make good business sense to this ex- GM owner.

Sorry for the rant, I love my truck, just don't like being interrogated by the CIA to get parts for it.

They know I can get a better price elsewhere, which I'm sure is why they are being so secretive. Some of the prices they quoted in the past was absolutely ridiculous. As you said I found much better prices at the time on the Web. Thanks for the sites and the info. This helps!

Mine is pretty good I guess, but I know the owner, and I simply print out what I can buy it online for. If they want to sell it for what that price plus what the shipping would be, so be it, if not, I order it online.

I am not a favorite of their parts department people. ;-)
