Parking brake not working?

I stepped down on my parking brake the other day, it acted like normal but then all of a sudden went all the way to the floor. I checked the cable and it's not moving, I thought it might have come unhooked at the pedal but it didn't. What does it take to remove the pedal mechanism? Has anyone run into this problem?

Its your cable, most likely. Napa has good replacements. Take your VIN with you when ordering up....
