Ill try that too. I had the cluster out the other day and cleaned all the terminals, guess I need to bring it in the house and start looking it over. Thanks

Good luck brother and if you get it finally really fixed please share, while mine is now a surprise when I get it, I cant say it's truly fixed
I did that too on a couple of caravans of that vintage for the same issue. Checked out the cluster board and soldered up a few cracked solder joints. Seemed to fix them, as far as I ever heard. Fixed up several early Neons with intermittent speedo issues by resoldering joints on the cluster boards too. Look over your cluster board with a magnifying glass and some good light, pay close attention to where the pins for the wiring connector are soldered to the board. Leverage and vibration seem to take their toll on those ones most.

UPDATE: I put the new altenator on and we went camping, well at the campground I noticed my windows were going up slower than normal.....Hmmmm. Looked at the voltage and it was down around 12. 12.4 to be exact. After figuring and figuring and traceing wires, the plug that plug into my altenator that has a dark blue and a dark brown wire going into it had become brittle and the wires were not staying in the plug part itself...Charged it up at the campground sunday, drove it home like that. Went to the dealer and replaced the plug ($58) and made a new pigtail to go into the main harness on the front of the block. All warning lights went out no bus has not come back and my voltage jumped up to 13ish on the gague, 13.8 to be exact. So far so good, I will continue to monitor it and report back to this thread to maybe help someone else. All in all. Time for a beer!

Just another quick update: Been driving the truck a lot to see if this will happen again, so far so good. No problems, seems to even shift cleaner(automatic). Hopefully its fixed and time to get back into the daily driver.
