no brakes

the other night, driving on the interstate never really used the brakes in 3 hours. Late night with no traffic. got to my exit, started to slow down and NO BRAKES. Well, finally got it slowed for the next exit, had a little brake when pressed all the way to the floor and used emrg. brake for complete stop. Pulled into a gas station, cralwed under and the front right caliper was leaking where the line goes into the caliper. I changed this caliper about 2 months ago.

The bolt was tight. So I loosened it , wiggled the connection around and tightened the !@*& out of it. Had the gas station guy come out and help me bleed em. Filled back up with brake fluid. Everything feels fine with it now, good pedal and other then my back brakes needing adjustment it seem to brake fine.

Is this a freak occurance? Or have the brass washers gone bad? I need to build my confidence back up with them before I take off again on thursday.

I would say freak. If you haven't done a bunch of caliper replacements, it is easy to worry about snapping off the banjo bolt and not get her tight.

I doubt that will ever happen to you again..............;)
