New to Diesel Lots of ?

I'm new to this diesel truck thing and am finding a lot of great info from the people on this site, thanks.
I came into the possession of a 1996 2500 with 248,000 miles, runs flawlessly but does have the sloppy steering that every on here talks about. I only use the truck to pull a fishing boat so the steering will be done when time and money permit. Did a oil change on it today and was thinking that the fuel filter should be changed-what kind of job is this? Looks like a PITA to get at the filter.
Does the system need to be primed once replaced and if so how is this done.
One other problem popped up after I replaced the starter and put new batteries in was that the radio will not work now, it did come on once or twice but only for a little whole-any thoughts?

Fuel filter change instructions> http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/filter/...uel_filter.htm

What the instructions don't say:
On '94-'96 if you remove the two nuts that hold the brake master cylinder to the booster even though it doesn't look like it the whole unit will swing easily towards the fender without disconnecting or bending any lines.
Gives you a ton of room to get at the filter.

It ain't bad, if you did the starter, you can do the filter! Give it a shot. Fill the filter before you install, and follow the directions in the post above.
