New CTM install

I am planning on getting a highend or premium CTM so I can get my steering wheel radio controls and overhead console working properly but need some model # info if possible. What numbers should I be looking for on the box? I see that it does say "HIGH", does that mean it is the highend model CTM or is that something else? Any and all info is much appreciated. It's for a 2001 2500 QC LB. It currently has the Base model CTM in it and I have acquired all the wiring needed (as far as I know) so the last item I need is this CTM. Thanks gents

Well I hope I'm lookin at the right info since nobody has heard of it. It's the Central Timer Module. The box that the DRB III scanning tool plug into to get trouble codes and things like that. Its right under the dash below the steering wheel. From what I have read, it is supposedly like the brain for all interior accessories. Hope this helps.

Apparently I have some bum scoop on the Central Timer Module. What do you call that box that is under the steering column, a little to the right. Mine has a 14 pin green connector attached. On the highline and premium models, I believe there is a white 18 pin connector. Have any of you seen this before? Sorry for the newbie questions, still tryin to understand how everything works. Thanks

You're on the right track Trumm. The central timer module does everything you described along with the automated seat belts. As far as your swap.....good luck!

Well I now have the right CTM, I believe anyway. It seems to be the highline version but I can't find the right connectors for it. I have the 14 pin green connector, since it's the same one for the base model CTM. But I still need the white 18 pin connector that sits right next to the green one. I have emailed **** near everyone and their mother but have not received anything positive back. So does anyone here have any idea where I can track this connector down at? Thanks gents.

I am in the process of replacing my CTM (central timing module) to fix my intermittent wipers. On my 2001 ram 1500 it is under the dash between the steering column and the ashtray. Its a black plastic box about 4 x 2 x 1 inch, screwed onto a metal bracket. It has a green and white connector that holds 14 wires, but mine only has 11 in it. My truck is very basic. This module varies according to your equipment (keyless entry, heated seats, etc). My part number 56020157AC. I don't think this is something you can upgrade. I think you only replace it with exact duplicate if you have a problem. This controls all things that have timers (intermittent wipers, washer pump, seat belt lights, headlight/dome light delays, etc)

I found this.... not sure how accurate...
TDR Roundtable - interior lights56020157AC Without Keyless entry 56045448AB Up to 10/07/99, with Keyless entry 56045448AC 10/07/99 & after, with Keyless entry 56045999AD with heated seats ...

More info... Replacing multifunction switch and central timing module did not fix my non-adjustable wiper delay. Came across this accidently, but in 01 ram 1500, fuse #13 in end of dash panel, label PWR LOCK, plays critical role in operation of CTM, and the associated adjustable intermittent wiper delay. No kidding. Pull fuse #13 and watch your intermittent wipers go crazy. doug.

Ctm

You need to add the wiring harness along with the CTM if you want it to work. This will give you the ability to add RKE or remote keyless entry and other high end options. Here's the part number for the harness and CTM. Can't recall which is which but this is what you need. 82204681 and 82300986. At least for a 2001.

I think I paid about $25 for it. Found it on ebay. Before that I looked everywhere for it and the only other place I found it was the dealership, I wasn't ready to give my my left leg just yet.
