Need the message center

One of our '02's didn't didn't come with the message center in the overhead console. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where we can find one??

Also - can a message center out of a gas rig be used on a diesel?? And, since this truck wasn't equipped with one, is the wiring already there or would it have to be wired in?

Thanks, folks

Sort of doubt you can get a new one anywhere, junkyard is your only choice.
I know the wiring is installed in the headliner up to the mirror but don't know if there are more parts that are missing.
Have a feeling there's probably a module that goes with it under the dash that's missing if your truck didn't come with the overhead.
Do know that the temp sensor on the front of the truck is missing if your truck didn't come with an overhead.

I did this mod a couple of years ago using parts from a 1500 gas truck. You need the computer display module from the overhead console, the wiring harness from the console to two existing connectors under the dash and the temp sensor and associated wiring.

I think you're wrong on the temp sensor
I thought that the engine comp sensor is tapped for the overhead display.
I know my wife's Olds is that way and I thought it was a universal concept to be extra cheap about putting seconday things into cars by manufacturers.
The comp needs to know the outside temp so it can figure fuel enrichment etc. It costs like 6cents extra to tap a wire or 12 bucks to add another sensor.

The temp sensor for the overhead display is located on the backside of the grill for the later 2nd gens. On earlier models it was located next to the lower left radiator support. I found that a sensor from any Chrysler product should work since it's just a resistor. I used one off a Jeep Cherokee.

The ECM monitors intake manifold air temperature (IAT) which is significantly higher than ambient air temperature since it's gone through the turbo and intercooler.
