If you guys followed my paint thread "Painting my truck with pics", then you know what I went through to build this truck. Well, this morning on my way to work...MY TRUCK WENT TO CRAP! Maybe the hood wasn't completely latched? I don't know? But this sucks!!!!!:soap:

Man, that is terrible... I've seen that happen before, I was in a truck one time when it did it, I almost loaded my drawers.

Just FYI Dodge did have a recall to replace the hood latches...

You got lucky - only the hood & glass are messed up. Paint can be matched since it is recent.

I screwed up 4 panels when my old Mercedes hood flew up.

**** sorry to hear that but at least you didn't wreck and hurt your self (besides your blood pressure) when it went up.

Jay that is painful to look at i know all time and work you had put into that truck and the outcome was a very nice job.

I feel for you and Know that you are and very bumed out as well right now about the only thing else i can say is Monday's suck.

Good that you are ok and it did not turn out worse. Does that aftermarket hood not have the secondary (safety latch) on it ??

I've been meaning to put the 2nd latch on. LOL Build it better this time! Windshield gets replaced tomorrow. I went to the junkyard & got hinges today. I'm gonna sell this hood and get something new. Change it up a bit. This one could be fixed in a hour.

Got the windshield fixed yesterday. I was able to get the hinges bent back & the hood now shuts. I went sledpulling last night & got 1st place. LOL. Estimate came back from the body shop, $1900 in damage. Ouch is right! But I'm having the body shop do it this time, i'm tired of painting. LOL

i guess insurance is a good idea, my truck has what the law requires plus 100.00 dollars deductible comprehensive for things like that. i just got a check for some damage done to my dakota by a mad deer.....and am waiting for payment for hail damage on my 3500

My insurance company will do the appraisal Friday, then write a check on the spot.
