My cruise "on " light once on won't shut off!

I know there's another fella with a cruise problem too. I feel for him. My problem is different. Everthing works fine. Except, once the system is turned on....I can't get the green light to go off. The system does disengage though...Occasionally the system won't allow me to up the speed, BUT, It ALWAYS stays on. Help!

Probably just the switch, get a new one if it bothers you.
Except for when it accidently gets switched off on my 95s, which don't have a light, I've have had my cruise on for ten years.

Figured out the problem with my cruise. The vacuum hose above the valve cover was barely on the nubby vacuum line. I pushed it back on AND used two wire ties (one above and one below) to the connection. Fixed!!

Glad you found the problem and posted the results.
That will probably help someone later when they do a seach with the same symptoms. ;)

Vacuum Systems Suck. [laugh]

Another tip: The switches on the steering wheel can get nasty as well. Mine started acting up, and the vacuum line was not the problem.

Some contact cleaner worked. The switches can get dirty and the contacts can oxidize. This will make the cruise flakey, but usually it is the vacuum line under the drivers battery that causes most of the problems.

BTW, the switches are not that hard to take apart either.
