Dash question...behind the dash
I purchased my old truck back from my brother, 2001 QC 4x4. He replaced the dash with a Geno's replacement unit. What I am looking for, is the dash part it mounts to. Several of the screw holes are broke from age. For instance the headlight switch holes, climate control mounting holes, etc... Does anybody know what this part is called and possibly a part number for it?

Same Thing
Watching this post. I have/had the same problem with the bottom half of the dash. I was able to salvage and JB Weld parts back in place when I did my new top half dash replacement. Just had my dash face off working on something, first time since I did the replace on the top half. Some of is holding some is not. If salvage yards are the only option then what year is the best? Not 2002?! My attempt to repair the bottom half is short term fix IMOP. Area that is still bad is around the headlight switch.
2002, SB, HO, 6SP, 4:10"S, 17" MT's, smarty, bhaf, DSS, winch bumper with 12K, weak clutch,

Your guess is as good as mine, Dodge just used cheap made plastic and we are stuck with it. My dash is still apart and I am trying to figure out how to repair the headlight switch frame. My truck has always served me well, but always in need of something. What truck is built better? I don't know.

Take any ford truck and it doesn't matter how old of a truck and its plastic seems to never crack. I am not saying it doesn't crack but in comparison to a dodge, well their isn't much comparison as its nearly impossible to find things like a headliner trim or a grill for a 91-93 dodge. But yet the same vintage ford has everything intact 29 of 30 times.
To answer your question about what's built better their are many trucks out their that are built better but none of them have an engine like a dodge does with its cummins powerplant. If you want the best of both worlds install the cummins in an F350 and you can't beat it.

I have never owned a bad Ford and would like to own a clean Ford 4x4 with a 12v Cummins.
