part # for the headlamp switch repair pack is 5019911aa. Make sure you are sitting down when you inquire on its price.

I had the same problem with a '93 250, like smokee said, seemed to be when I kept the dash lights turned down low. I just stripped back the wires and used crimp on 1/4" spade connectors to hook to the individual connectors on the new switch. Without all the extra plastic it seems to stay cool and work fine.

What he said. Basically, you would cut the park lamp feed wire at the switch (bk/yl wire-powered with park lamps on), install the relay in between, use a 12 gauge wire with an inline fuse to feed the relay from an underhood battery source. (I usually use one of the posts on the preheater relays for a power source. I hate having a dozen little wires attached to the battery terminals.) I usually mount the relay under the hood, but if you find a spot in the dash, that works well too.

headlight switch

Hello All, I'm new to the party with the same problem on my 1992 W250. Parking and instrument lights went out at same time. Headlight switch toasted along with connector. Bought a replacement connector with pigtail from Advance, their PN: PT351. Bought a new headlight switch from them too, but quality is suspect (mine is defective out of the box). Might want to try a factory switch or one from NAPA. The replacement is straightforward. To get the **** off, there's a little button on the bottom of the switch (you'll have to locate it by feel) to push- then the ****- shaft and all, will slide out. Next step is to upgrade the lights with a new circuit and relays. There's an excellent step-by-step "how to" with pics on this forum.
