Loosing wheel weights

Just put on two new front tires and had to get 2 used rims to replace 2 warped ones (I knew they were not balancing out properly from the last rebalance). I checked the runout before using the rims and now one of the new rims is throwing weights off - three times as of yesterday. The used rims were bought out of the classifieds on this site and they are off a 98.5 that had aluminum rims put on it. Only one of the used rims is throwing the weights - the other is fine. I even had a second new tire put on the aggravating rim and it still threw the inside weights - even after imbalance matching the tire to the rim.

Has anybody else had problems with weights becoming self-removing? This is a first for me and I have many miles under me on D and E-rated tires over the years.

I now have stick-on weights inside the rim but they aren't quite as good a ride as wiehgts on the outside edge.

Re:Loosing wheel weights

I have not experienced this. One of the local tire shops does use a liquid pink coloured fluid to balance "difficult" combinations. This works until you have a puncture and the fluid bows out.
John
