looked at a truck today

it was a 1995 ext bac 4x4, auto. truck had 331k miles. tranny shifted fine, tires were new, paint was decent, interior was ok. it had a bit of oil on the pan itself but no puddles under it. the guy wants $6,800 and thats as low as he will go. what do you all think?

Sounds a little high, but not bad. Do you know if/when the tranny was rebuilt?

It should have a P-Pump on there. I'd be asking some questions if it didn't

it all depends on how it was treated. but you can still make wicked power with the 160.

I've read about several trucks getting bombed with 275k+ miles, with very little problems motorwise. The tranny usually doesn't like it though.

Just pay more for a cleaner, lower mileage truck. Look for something that already has new front-end parts and stuff. I'm tired of dealing with fixing common wear problems.

I agree, I'd pass on it and find one with less miles. Not saying that it won't be a good truck, but I think you could find a better one. Might just take some looking.
