LMC/Genos dash cap

Has anyone used a dash cap from one of the above? If so, how difficult were they to install? Have any of you guys replaced the entire dash? TIA

I am going to have to replace mine one of these days. I don't know if there is any difference in quality or ease of install between Genos or LMC. Here is a third option, Dash Covers Plus (1-800-441-3274). They may be a bit pricier, but if they last longer, may be worth it. I only want to do it once. Give them a call, good guy to talk to.

I have installed an LMC dash cover and also one from Dashskins https://dashskin.com/. The LMC dash covers are good quality and the install is pretty involved as you have to pull the dash at least part of the way out to get to the screws from the firewall side. I'd set aside at least half a day or more if you've never done it before. The Dashskin is a great timesaving option if your dash is not completely caved in. On my son's 2001, I was able to use some fiberglass mesh to reinforce the existing cracks then put the skin over it. Much easier and faster. Here's a pic during the install of the Dashskin cover. I'll try and get one of the finished product tonight and post it. You really can't tell that its a skin unless you look hard at the defrost vent area. Overall I am very impressed with it.

Good point. When we did my buddy's 2002 he went with the LMC cover so we took the opportunity to do some preventive maintenance while we had it out. We put new seals on all the blend and recirc doors, changed the heater and evap core as well. It's not a job you want to do twice that's for sure.

It wasn't difficult, just time consuming and required a lot of patience......

Driving mine to MD on Friday and my dash was rattling annoyingly. I tapped on it, (as I have for the last 5+ years), and a piece about 4x4x4 broke off, and dropped on my foot. Now I HAVE to do something.
