Line-X Sprayed on rocker panels

I'm considering having the Line-X material sprayed down the "rocker panels" of my truck to help keep rocks and road debris from destroying paint.

Anyone with experience in this area? ???

Regarding pics ... Do a search on the Net. I found a site Web site that had some pics of a red truck that had the rockers sprayed.

I was also quoted $200 for the complete job.

I'm considering having either black or gray sprayed on my white truck.

Decisions ... Decisions.... :P

Re:Line-X Sprayed on rocker panels

I just had my truck in the bodyshop and they sprayed Duraguard along the bottom about 3" up before they painted it. They feathered it so you can barely see it. Hope it does the job. Spent $1200 on the bottom 16" of the truck. Found out real quick that the Mopar mudflaps aren't long enough. It looks really nice.....for now.

Re:Line-X Sprayed on rocker panels

The truck is white with a driftwood bottom. They spray the Duraguard on before they paint it so it's barely noticeable if it's applied to the very bottom. My wife's car has it up the sides about 12". Looks like "brown yucky!!" (this is a censored site) :P

Re:Line-X Sprayed on rocker panels

The place where I had my previous truck's Line-X liner sprayed in would only do it in black. Had too many problems with color distortion when cured. Seems white would turn yellow, red would turn orange, etc.

At the time I was there, he was spraying fire truck parts for Seagrave Fire Apparatus. New York city predominately buys only Seagrave, as other makes don't hold up to the harsh service life they're subjected to. If Line-X holds up in that environment, It would be a quality product for the rocker panels on your truck, providing you don't mind black.

A buddy of mine had his rocker panels Rhino Lined. He said that they will stand behind their no-chip warranty. He goes four wheeling a lot and sometimes ... "chip" happens ;D

PISTOL

Re:Line-X Sprayed on rocker panels

Thanks for all the info. ;D ;D ;D

I was going to get the rockers sprayed the same height as if it were a "two tone" from the factory.

I have also heard about the "fading" or "discoloring" of white and red. This particular Line-X dealer told me about it. He said that they had no problems with black or grey.

I was considering having grey sprayed but someone in the area has another white Dodge CTD sprayed black and it looks really cool.

Thanks Again, ;D ;D ;D
David B.

Re:Line-X Sprayed on rocker panels

I seen a Dodge 2500 gas model in Fairbanks AK that had the side pannel, wheel wells, back and rear bumper done in the X line. The truck was a copper color with the black pannels. He had a large Buck Stop Bumper, and a matching Leer Cap. If I see the truck again I will stop and get some pictures. I have been wanting to do the same to my truck.
