If you HAD to have a new muffler...
I'm straight piped and I am looking into getting a muffler on my 2000 24v. I do a fair amount of medium duty towing (lawn chemicals, mowers, etc..). I'm looking for decent performance and a much quieter exhaust. Yeah, I'm a weirdo around here. I'm also not looking to break the bank. Any recommendations?

My MBRP unit is pretty reasonable as far as noise is concerned. Its deeper than the stock sound but not completely uncorked. I think they have a 4" and 5" models.

Check out Donaldson or Nelson mufflers. www.ryderfleetproducts.com

I got the Donaldson in my sig from that site. It sounds a bit deeper, but it's still almost as loud as a straight pipe.

Keep in mind that there are lots of different Donaldson mufflers. Which part number did you get? I think the cheapest way to quiet down your truck is with a Donaldson.

Yeah, if you get the quiet one it looks like you're smuggling a water heater under your truck. [laugh]
