Husky Liners center hump liner

After removing (long story) and shampooing the carpet of my '02 2500, I can now see the need for front Husky Liner floor liners. No point in having spotless carpet only to get it dirty due to small ineffective floor mats. The rear of the truck already had a set of black floor liners.

According to Cabela's, center hump Husky Liner P/N 82711 only fits trucks equipped with an automatic transmission. This is not mentioned on the Husky Liner website. My cup holders are on the standard transmission center console, so it would be very nice to have a center liner too.

I appreciate everybody's passion for whatever brand of floor mat/liner they use, but I want liners/mats that have the lip around the perimeter so that it contains all dirt, mud, water, snow, etc. I'd rather have a puddle than taking a chance of stuff running off the mat/liner into the door sill area or on to the carpet. Thanks.

I also have a manual 4x4 and I don't think there is any room for a center liner.
Also, make sure you are looking at a 2500/3500 2002 listing. The 2002 1500 is a different truck altogether.

I sent a message to Husky Liners on Sunday. Here is their reply:
Roy,

You could not use a center hump liner with the manual transmission as the cup holder and shifter surround take up nearly all of the top of the transmission tunnel (see attached photo). The liner is designed to fit a truck with a 4X4 shifter or a manual transmission, but not both in the same vehicle. You can use part #3071 for the front floor pans though.

Thanks for your interest,

Doesn't seem like there's enough exposed carpet to justify spending $50 on the center hump liner.

If you are concerned about it, get a cheap rectangular floor mat at the local auto parts and trim it to fit the space behind the shift tower. I did this for the rears in mine for about 12 bucks.
That was a nice reply from Huskyliners.
