Help with Approx "worth" of '98 12 valve
Looking into buying my buddies Laramie SLT 2500 12 valve cummins with a pop up camper on. It's got 220,000 on it, but in pretty good condition. Seems hard for me to find true "worth" online as these are pretty rare? Any help would be sweet. He's asking 12,500 and first right to buy back .

2wd or 4x4?
Reg. cab or quad cab?
Auto or manual?
Any rust?
Interior still nice?
If it is a quad cab, 5 speed 4x4, solid with no rust, with a nice interior, well maintained and a clean pop up, that is a good price.

Thanks Oliver, yes it's a 5 speed 4x4 extra cab, no rust, decent interior. It's been very well maintained as well.

That price is good then, it would probably sell for a few thousand more on a E-bay type sale.
The 12V '98 Quad cabs are pretty sought after in nice shape.
The 5 speed is also a big bonus in my book.

No extra cabs in Dodge line
Club Cab= extended cab, but only two doors
Quad Cab= extended cab with suicide doors behind front doors. Final Interior upgrades for end of 2nd gen run.
The 98 12V Club Cab= Nice truck
The 98 QUAD Cab 12V= Holy Grail Truck. If manual, 4X4 and long bed even Holier!

Sounds like a nice truck and camper combo. I'd be seriously considering that one.
One problem though.....if you live in a diesel smog state then it may still need to be smogged. In CA it would which means no ditching that Catalytic converter.

There is a 98.5 12V quad, 4x4 LB sitting on a backstreet in my town and I watch it like a hawk. Been there for about 6 years now and gets moved occasionally. When a for sale sign hits it I'll be first in line if I'm in time.....

Dont wait!!!!! Find out who's truck it is and approach them now. They may be thinking about selling it and your inquiry is all it takes. If not then give them your number and say, if you ever think about selling it, call you first.
I knew this older gent who had a little truck I wanted. I asked him all the time if he was ready to sell it to me and his reply would always be, but then I'd have to buy a new one. We'd laugh and follow up a month or two later. One day his health went and he passed away. Not long after his wife calls me up and says she wants to give me the truck because thats what the old man would have wanted. Speechless.....I did give her some money and drove it home.
