head light flicker

I had posted about 2 weeks ago , related to batteries. Well with a busy schedule and whatever, still havent picked any up. I noticed this morning on the way in, headlights seem to flicker a little bit.
This is while driving, rpms up, guage reads dead in the middle.
Im wondering if my alt is bad as well. when i go to start, shows about 9v, once the grid heater goes off, up to about 11-12. cranks and starts. but slower than normal.
when idling i can tell the lights dim, and brighten with rpms.

is this a battery or alt condition? i would check more accurately but i busted my volt meter.

Grab a new voltmeter and check everything over. I wouldn't trust the factory gauge when trying to figure this out. If anything, go to the local parts store and have them loadtest the batteries and alternator for you. It's usually a free test, then you'll know.

had same issue with headlights flickering for o apparent reason. changed headlamp bulbs and flickering went away. not sure if there was a loose connection or the bulbs were aged or what, but they don't flicker no more.

have had a problem in the past with numerous new bulbs from walmart, they all seem to have been dropped or something, cause i got one set that didnt filcker after about 5 that did.
all were silverstar 40$ twin packs.

turns out you can take back your burnt out bulbs for a full refund at walmart
